Slow Boat to Luang Prabang
After the long hike out of the woods I took a two day slow boat ride down the Mekong River to Luang Prabang... Although I wasn't sure how it would be, I had heard that some trips were awfully cramped and not fun at all. It turns out, that it was actually fine. The first day was really actually a great day. I listened to some good tunes with a friend and watched the countryside float by. It sort of felt like time stood still, just for a while. It's nice to have that feeling, like there's no where you have to be and nothing you have to do. as dad would say, be in the now. :) That night we all spent in Pak Beng, where I got my cheapest guest house yet, though who knows if it was worth it! Then after the second day I was more than ready to get off the boat! Here is a picture leaving Houy Xai
